1. SQUARE XXL STYLES

Square, practical… but never boring – when it’s oversized. This season’s sunglasses megatrend is XL square sunglasses (like the Ray-Ban Square II), bringing back memories of the 70s and providing extra coverage for our eyes. Nothing stands in the way of your personal Summer of Love with this eyewear trend.

2. HAVANNA & TORTOISE

Sunglasses in havana or tortoiseshell have been in for years because their varying pattern adapts excellently to any look and, above all, to any skin tone. The trend this summer is towards lighter shades of brown and grey – and the shapes are becoming much more extroverted.  If you want to go one step further than the usual tortoiseshell pattern, opt for variants in leopard, cheetah, or snake-look.

3. SLIM 90s STYLES

In summer ‘22, slim sunglasses in “Matrix” style are indispensable on the catwalks and the streets. These shades are narrow, oval or angular, and exude casual 90s flair. Whether in transparent acetate like Christian Roth’s Round Wav or in classic black like Valentino’s Key-Style VA 4105 – these slim sunglasses bring something new to your face and take your outfits to the forefront of fashion.

What was thin filigree metal frames last year is taken to the extreme in the 2022 sunglasses trends: Now the frame is completely omitted, and the tinted lenses show off the shape alone. All the better, because with rimless sunglasses, the lenses become absolute eye-catchers thanks to unusual shapes (Ray-Ban RB 8065), exciting details (Bvlgari BV 6089) and soft colours (Sylvie Optics Mallorca).

There are probably few sunglasses styles that are as timeless and popular with ladies as cat-eye shapes.
